100,000 garands being released by CMP

100,000 more garands to be released shortly by the Cmp. These guns were loaned to Turkey and the phillipines or however I spell it.

M1 Garands have a deep history in American history, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has released a number of them to the public.
I love America for the rights and freedoms we used to have.

nice. I am going to a gun show next weekend to shop for a Garand; nice to know that there is a good source available to keep prices in check.

This is alittle outdated. CMP has already been selling the Turkish returns and Phillippine rifles will soon to follow

We'll be moving to Az in the next few months and the first thing I am going to do is order a Garand from The CMP and have it delivered to my house.

CMP won't keep gun show prices in "check". Too many people don't know about the cmp or think it's "too hard" (read that as just plain lazy) to jump through all the hoops.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

Gun shows are the worst places in the world to look for any kind of a deal on anything actually worth buying.

Ok, just got to unboxing this CMP Field Grade that arrived in record time.

I stickie-noted for USGI Wood and SA receiver, if possible.

Looks like I got my wood and a late WWII SA receiver, with a 05/63 dated SA barrel.

Initial look-over shows good, honest wear. No cracks in the stock. Finish is to-the-white on the gas cylinder. ME 2+, TE 3+. Just cleared the CMP arsenal on 02/21/2018 so it’s fresh, haha!!

ETA: Sorry the background isn’t the usual jf64k granite, haha!! Mrs jf64k has decided to update the kitchen to Quartz, so the kitchen is in demo mode.

Great looking field grade, thanks for sharing.

Curious if that is a Turkish return. Is there a dope tag on inside of trigger housing? That seems to be one way to maybe, possibly, tell

Is there any expected difference between the Turkish rifles what is expected from the Philippines?

You will never know what you are getting. Rifles are not sold by country of return
