The auction before one slipped through for $450.00. I'm
    Not sure how or why.

I'd rather spend $2,000.00 on a Mauser or colt python or ssa than $3,000.00 on a fancy AR which you'll never get your money back on. You can build the worlds most accurate at for $1,000.00, the rest is just bling. However, an original correct M1 carbine will appreciate almost like Apple stock did the last decade.

Looks like a decent M1930 model. As previously mentioned, do not shoot 7.62 Tokarev out of these guns, inspect the bolt stop, and replace all the springs to factory spec with a Wolff spring kit and you should be good to go.

        Hold on.

Are you telling me that my $1500 M&P-15 AR that I bought at the height of the 2009 panic is now worth less than what I paid for it? Even with the original receipt from Gougers Gun Shop?

        Bollocks!!

Does anyone have a tried and true method to get all the grime and dirt off the grips? I can see the wood color in spots and I think the gun would look better with newer looking handles. I don't want to damage the wood in any way...god forbid!

Try a soft bristled brush and Hoppes No9. I have used this method for years with great results.

You can use hot BLO and a piece of burlap to scrub the grips clean. Heat the BLO in an old coffee can to as hot as you can stand, dip the burlap in and start scrubbing. After you're done the grips will also have the added benefit of being protected from drying out.

Shot some surplus Czech and Romanian tokarev through my TT yesterday. The stuff is hot, averaging 1450 fps. Corrosive too although I stripped the gun and cleaned it with the Costco window cleaner foam, followed by rubbing alcohol, than a hair dryer and oil.

I'll get the average 30 Mauser ppu ammo speeds up as soon as the ammo arrives by the tokarev ammo is a no go.

Nice gun and interesting thread. I bought a 1911 broomhandle last year at Ontario gunshow. Fair price and it came with repro wooden case and leather holster.

I never replaced anything on it. I just bought stripper clips and a bunch of PPU ammo and shot the heck out of it. Very fun gun to shoot!!!!!

Good info on Wolf spring kit. May need to pick one up
