where is the best deals on brass SKS ammo? Ive been out of the scene here for a few years but i remember getting Cheetah and Yugo brass cased ammo back in the day. Its was more pricey than the steel case stuff but shot real well and still alot cheaper than American stuff like Winchester or any of the others here.

7.62 X 39
You might call LAX Ammo. I recall seeing a stack of the olive drab eastern-bloc spam cans in wooden crates. I don't know if there's any left; they've had to change how they display their stock so things have been moved around..

no, it's not "very" corrosive.
A full 365 days elapsed before I cleaned my wasr and the only issue was a light orange frosting appeared at the forward end of the gas tube. of course nothing on the stainless piston, or the parkerized parts behind it.
bronze brush and a little corrosionX cleaned it up perfectly. No Pits at all.

no, it isn't very humid here, nor anywhere else in Ca. except by the beach. my point, which I stand by, is that there is no reason to burden yourself with the mantra of same day cleaning.
it'll be fine. shoot it, clean it when you get around to it, don't be OCD.MAGAComment

No it's like mildly corrosive.
However, if you cannot get past your unapt pregnancy simile, this August try asking two women, one 3 months pregnant, and the other waddling around at 8.5 months pregnant, if there is any difference. Should you survive such an inane question, I bet you won't ask again.

Really I can care less if you two want to risk your guns getting rusted or pitted or even more risk as more time passes after not cleaning them correctly or for that matter they could explode in your face and I wouldn't care. They are your guns to use or abuse as you see fit.
I don't think they are going to melt if I don't clean them seconds after I fire them with corrosive ammo but I have seen the damage done by incorrect or no cleaning after firing such ammo.Comment

My Yugo loved that stuff.
Most accurate x39 I ever tried in it.
Still sitting on a few cases I bought for <$ about ~10 yrs ago.
Many were afraid to use it because of the "corrosive" label so I scooped it.
There is no magic to cleaning it up.
