    Weekend in Tahoe/Reno coming up

Since I will be there anyway, are there any shops that are C&R friendly and have arms in stock?

I have not been to Cabela's in Reno, do they usually have C&R rifles/pistols in stock? Or is it more just outfitting?

Do they offer a discount to CR?

The Big Reno Gun Show is this weekend. I've never left the show without exercising my C&R. http://www.bigrenoshow.com/

              Boomtown, south shore

Boomtown Cabella's does have C&R rifles, such as about ten .22LR pump rifles from the 1920s, some, but at least more than 50 years old, and when I asked, they said they know what C&Rs are and do honor them even to CA residents. This was sometime in the fall. No doubt it changes with time.

South shore has a fantastic old gun shop, Guns of Tahoe. They focus on 1865-1898 but do have older and newer stuff. Some is wall hangers only, like a flintlock from probably the 1700s in pretty rough condition. They had several nice Colt SAAs, plenty of stuff for you to drool over. I would say visit them first if you think you might have time for only one, simply because they are much more interesting. Cabellas is Cabellas, even if they do have some C&R rifles which most chain stores won't. Guns of Tahoe is unique. The owner is unique.

Cabela's does not give the '03 discounts that most of the other suppliers do. Don't know why.

My family goes camping every year at Nevada beach campground right down the street from there; and I make it a point every year to go there at least once. Everything in that store is interesting, sometimes the guns can be an afterthought with all the cool junk that guy has.
