    Mosin Nagant Replacement stocks

I don't know how, but I brought out my M44 today and the stock was busted in half. I have no idea if I set something heavy on it, if something fell on it, or if it fell on something, but I am devastated.

I need a replacement stock for an M44. Does anyone either have one, or have suggestions for a good place to get one? Thanks.

This is the first place that came to my mind. There are others. Mosins are like small block chevys, there are parts pretty much falling out of trees.

Does anyone make a non Monte Carlo synthetic stock for MNs?

You could always fab something up like this until you get a decent replacement!

Good info for replacement stocks, thanks. I am also needing replacements. I'd like to keep all the numbers matching, but I guess it is easier to just buy complete ones.

I bought 2 M44's from Century for $50 each a few months ago and the only problem is that the lower half of each buttstock is missing. Otherwise beautiful guns and one is dated 1943.

I have seen where another lower half of the stock is spliced on using a dovetail-type grove but I'm not sure where this can be done.

Thats a nice stock. My brotheres MN m44 stock broke just as you described. I guess you cant really complain eh? Those guns seen more SHTF then we can ever imagine so if they break down after 50-100 years, they've lived a long life.

Boyd's stocks are excellent. I have one for my 10/22 and am completely pleased with it.

This guy has great prices on mil-surp parts, although unfortunately he is out of M44 stocks: http://www.tngunparts.com/Catalogue.htm

Worth bookmarking this site if you're into surplus rifles.

                      Broken M44 Stock

                      Crusader,
Tell me about the break in your M44 stock.
I know it's been a few months, but I just read your thread.
The less damage received to the area around the break (post-break), the better it will repair.
If you are interested, I might be able to fix it for you.
