    Questions about C&R

I'm getting ready to submit the paperwork, and I understand about not being able to have a handgun sent directly to me--it has to go through a Class 1 FFL.
as a Class 3, am I still subject to DROS and the transfer fees, or are there different charges associated with it?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

    Yes, yes and maybe.
Still subject to DROS ($35), the transfer fee can be anything the FFL dealer wants to charge (so shop around), and you still have to wait 10 days after the paperwork goes in. (Unless you have a Certificate of Eligibility)

I don't want to get too hung up on semantics, but remember that as a C&R FFL you will be a Type 03 FFL and not a Class 3 FFL. The term Class 3 (Class III) denotes an FFL who has paid the Special Occupational Tax to deal in NFA items.

If you go around telling people you are a "Class 3 FFL" you might draw some unwanted attention.
