    1950 Soviet Tula SKS

More inventory related pic's. I bought this rifle at the "Great Western" gun show in 1993. It was the first laminated stock Soviet SKS I had seen. I fell in love with the wonderful honey colored stock. It's obviously had it's original hard wood stock replaced during a refurb, but it's still one beautiful rifle. All stamped matching... I paid $179.00, which was a $30 premium over the hard wood carbines...

Should have bought a hundred of them...

These beautiful firearms are why, still after over 35 years of collecting I still get excited.

Thats grease on the bolt face.

    at the nice price.
Still has a little cosmo poop stain in there!

Nice! I cheaper out and bought a ‘51 with original stock around that same time. Glad too, I like the reddish hardwood.

I have both hardwood and laminated and even though laminated is mostly going to be a replacement stock, I just love the look of them.

Like yours, I have one that is still blued with all matching numbers.

              Lookin good!

In 1993, I was 11 years old and in no position to buy a rifle. You guys should feel lucky to have had such an opportunity.

Good looking rifle. I love the blonde laminate furniture. I've got one on my Egyptian/Israeli capture, that was my first endeavor into the SKS land, $75 bucks in 2000. It was down the rabbit hole from there. PAX

Love that serial too! I might have bought out for that reason alone.

Even to this day the SKS is a relative bargain for what they cost, the collector interest, and complete viability as an all around regular shooter and capable defensive weapon if needed. If I were to have to bug out with one rifle it would be an SKS with as much ammo as I could carry. Yes, even before an AK or AR.

^^^This. Still good deals to be found, but the Kali supply is sporadic. They're the rifle equivalent of air cooled VW to me. PAX
