Definitely a left-handed bacon stretcher. Not C&R strictly speaking, but an antique for sure. First one I've ever seen.

Nope, not for use with a antique.... The firearm was developed and produced in the late 1940's and early 1950's

          Yes!!! You win..

FN OIP sniper scope adjusting tool. The OIP scopes were used on the FN-49 sniper rifles.

BUT what type? Type 1 & 2 Or type 3?

SVT-40, the only reason I knew what it was, I picked one up off a table at the Reno Show trying to figure out WTH it was used for. Since then I've seen another version, had no idea there were 3.

Fake question actually... Only the type 3 scopes needed a special tool..

But there are two different types of tools. One (like in my pic) with round pins which engage the adjusting bars, and the other with square posts which engage the adjusting bars.

Type two above. Type three below.

SVT, was this tool needed for any elevation or windage adjustment, or was it just to zero the scope adjustment?

Just for zeroing. The turrets could then be turned by hand for range and windage adjustments.
