While I am mostly a Colt and Smith and Wesson kind of guy, occasionally I run into something that I just can't resist. Such is the case with these two 100+ year old German handguns.
Both were pure impulse buys as I wasn't exactly looking for either of them, they just happened to be available at the same time I was in their vicinity.
First is this C96 Mauser. Commonly known as a Broomhandle, they were the first successful handgun manufactured by Mauser. This particular example was manufactured as a commercial model and then pressed into German military service.
Complete with it's matching number shoulder stock holster, 1916 dated leather carrier and cleaning rod, it also has matching numbers throughout.

The second addition to my German collection is this 1913 dated DWM Luger. Like the Mauser, it too has all matching numbers including the firing pin and grips.

"a" suffix indicates that it was made very early in 1913
