So i sold a T 53 and the gun store doing the DROS made me remove the bayonet . Said it made my bolt action C&R a assault rifle.

A lot of BS going around, I was doing ppt on my SKS and they said to remove bayonet, I told them to check, so after some grumbling the truth was, that if it’s a spike then it’s bad, blade is good to keep
So we didn’t have to do it

forgot their name, in a strip mall in hacienda heights on Gale just off hacienda blvd. Buyers choice. I told the new owner it was BS and i was not taking it off politely. The clerk took it in the back and did it after i got paid.

Oh dear, that's not good. I spent a long time trying to find my beloved all matching T53 that was one out of every 500 or so that didn't get dragged behind a truck. dunked in a swamp, set on fire, and extinguished with rusty machetes. IT HAS A BAYONET!!!

**Update** I thought I could remove the assembly with a screwdriver, but apparently the screw is peened in place. I am going to go sheer it off at the barrel with a carbide blade on my table saw.

Touched up with some cold blue = Good as new.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing, and if I am not mistaken it might have been a PPT that you and I did a while back. The manager came from the back and saw the SKS bayonet and had a complete meltdown.

Seems like the NY stupidity has bled into CA stupidity. That's a dangerous mix.

I'm glad they didn't tell you to grind the bayonet lug off
