A local ffl has a mosin in stock. Besides the bolt and barrel what should I be look for before purchasing? Is $349 a fair price?

What model? (M44, T53, M91, M39 M38.) What year? what condition? is it counterbored? Are all the parts matching?

Look in the marketplace here. There's a few sellers all over the state selling them for a lot less than that.

I've been seeing a lot of $200 91/30 mosins in the CG Marketplace lately. If it's a run of the mill shooter that's pretty high.

If its a Finn, it's a good price. I'd bet it's prob a plain old soviet M91 though.

I'd buy pretty much any solid complete M91 for $350 minus a scrubbed Balkan sans cleaning rod.

well a few years ago you could walk in any Big 5 and get one for around 120 dollars. Go to any Turners, big 5, ammo bros and you will not find one. Most gun buyers buy retail. I would say a good indicator of a mosin 91 30 is what they are going for at a local pawn shops.
