A local ffl has a mosin in stock. Besides the bolt and barrel what should I be look for before purchasing? Is $349 a fair price?

Depends.
What model? (M44, T53, M91, M39 M38.) What year? what condition? is it counterbored? Are all the parts matching? -
I will go down in the next few days to check on that. Condition is good. Thanks. Is there a particular year I should be looking for?Comment

Determine model, year, maker, matching, refurbished, country of origin. There are American, Hungarian, Polish, Chinese, Romanian, Russian and Finnish Mosins. We will be able to answer all these questions and guide you much better with pictures.Last edited by 81turbota; 11-07-2017, 5:32 PM.C&R nut.Comment

$349? 95% chance it is $100 overpriced.Comment

I've been seeing a lot of $200 91/30 mosins in the CG Marketplace lately. If it's a run of the mill shooter that's pretty high.Comment

If its a Finn, it's a good price. I'd bet it's prob a plain old soviet M91 though.Comment

well a few years ago you could walk in any Big 5 and get one for around 120 dollars. Go to any Turners, big 5, ammo bros and you will not find one. Most gun buyers buy retail. I would say a good indicator of a mosin 91 30 is what they are going for at a local pawn shops.
my guess
1. nice 91 30 250-275
2. m 44 350- 425Comment
