    Winchester Model 1917

Just jailed a Winchester model 1917 with a win barrel (brite with great lands and groves) ears are still there and lots of win parts, stock is cut down but otherwise rifle looks great.
Paid to much but we only live once.

That's what I thought, but some here will debate.

I have a really nice Ogden/Elmer Keith stock set. All three pieces of wood and all metal (most Eddystone metal). Not exactly the big W wood, but will gussy it up a ton. Dont see wood like this much any more.

I picked up an M1917 stock set that was in a lot I got estate sailing many moons ago. Stayed in the "waiting" pile until I found the right candidate and price couple years ago. Took a while before an Eddystone sporter, with no metal modification damage, crossed my path. The wood work was actually very well done, by a craftsman back in the day. Good luck on your new acquisition, PAX

                          You did good!

For the price, I'd say you did good! IMHO

                          Congrats OP!
