    Scammer Alert

Below info is thanks to Warrior1354 from K98kforum.com

He's been posting on many different forums and having payments sent too a false address or a pick up point.

Here's his sending address for that, remember it well. Don't even worry about the user name he has well over four different ones.

    Gregory Cooper
6211 W sawmill RD Little Rock Arkansas 72206.

Anyway he was not your typical scammer he would get a large post count up and comment on all types of different threads and discussions. I have read that he's been doing this since 2010 as well.

Got a K98kforum member on gunboards for $1,000 for an all correct 1945 M1 Garand. I almost bought that one myself, but luckily I was offered a Lahti L-35 by a legit member. Guy sent me pics, but never followed up. He is patient and seems to play the long con.

Also got someone on 1911forum for $1,000.

I have had a few auctions on Gunbroker where someone would ask me for more pictures of a gun even though I already had a link posted to 30 other pictures of the same gun. I think these scammers don't even have a real gun and just use pictures other people send them.

I just flagged a scam on the local Armslist for a FN M249 SAW that the "seller" listed for $1800. Since these sell new for about eight grand, I knew it was not a legitimate ad.

Yes scammers do use pics from gunbroker. A couple years ago I bought a SVT-40 then saw it for sale on Armslist in 3 other states.

For the record this scammer is good. The Garand while being a 1945 and correct, it was CMP correct with no papers. Stock was refinished and stamps were barely visible. It was at best a $1,600 rifle not a $2,000+ rifle.

Good tips! I'm a newb at gunbroker, but I see some "awesome" deals, from private party sellers... If a deal looks too good to be true, well there ya go....

                    This.

Reminds me of Jason Veraldi, "The Expertish" and his mosin group buy scam. Odds are, those who got scammed will never do anything about it.

I was thinking a bit lower....

I think that is why all his sale prices are $1,000 and interstate. More than likely nothing will happen to him. Supposedly he has been at it for 7 years.

For $1000, I would hunt him down. I use to hunt people down for a lot less, years ago. To far away, I probably know someone to do it for me.
Few years ago I had a guy in Louisiana sell me a M-39 barreled action. Always had some lame excuse why he hadn't mailed it, and that was only when he answered his phone or an email. 3 months later I'm talking to a friend that lived in the same city. Asked John if he knew where this address was, and he replied right over the bridge from him. Told him why I asked.
Next afternoon I had an overnight air package on my porch, with a M-39 in it. John was an F-4 Phantom jockey in Nam. After surviving that and carrier deck landings in the dark, there isn't much fear left in him for anything. Called John to see if he had something to do with the sudden arrival of this package.
Said all he did was knock on the guys door with his 1911, and told him he forgot to mail a package to Calif. Said he was real eager to get to the post office and didn't have much time to stay and chat.
Any of you guys around the Sonora/Jamestown area familiar with the guy selling faked Winchesters? Recently saw he was back on Gunbroker again with a different user name.
