    Modified C&R question

I'm looking at buying (online) a Hi Power. The frame is old enough to clearly be C&R, but it has a more modern slide on it, with forced match serial.

    Is it still C&R?

If the slide is basically the same as the original it should be OK.

we have determined that replacing particular firearms parts with new parts that are made to the original design would also be acceptable
    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

the slide is from a MkIII, not sure if it matters

I'm just looking for a shooter Hi Power, C&R means my FFL can transfer it to me, that's the only reason I care.

It's good to go. Read the bold section Milsurp Collector posted above.

I don't know what changed on the slide from original to MkIII. I don't know Hi Powers at all... if changing the stock for a different material un-C&Rs it, it wouldn't surprise me if minor design changes do too.
