If it was in nice condition,
I would pay close to that but not a penny more. Maybe I'd even try and talk it down.

And I think of myself as cheap when buying rifles/flamethrowers that I don't actually need.

All matching 1939 Finn Capture in excellent condition? $1500 sounds good

If I had to, I would. That's close to what they're fetching, and nicer ones should creep up ahead of the pack, if that's a concern. I think the slings may be wrong and reversed though. If you're an 03 and all that, then the fees aren't a deal breaker. PAX

A 1943 M38 in an M38 stock is probably worth $300, you didn't say which arsenal and if the numbers are matching. But it looks pretty good with a nice sling, it's likely (refurb) matching so I'd say go for it if you want one and the bore is good.

It's probably worth the asking price if the bore is in good condition. Matching numbers would sweeten the deal for sure and if it is a rarer one or not.

Send me couple hundred rounds of ammunition for testing purposes and another couple hundred bucks for my time & shipping, and I'll evaluate the piece in a month or so you will know you're not getting burned for 3 Hondo.

I think I'd take one for $300. and if the bore was decent. I moved a nice one a while back on broker ..... it wasn't even considered by anyone local.
I got 350 which is the amount I wanted or not at all on broker since id have fees , etc..... and it wasnt too a hard sale but had so few lookers and I tried to make it as appealing as possible. I think I offered either free shipping or very cheap shipping
i see guys local asking 400 but no one is getting it. A lot of people are burnt out on mosins minus the serious collector but folks still asking top dime.
I'd feel comfortable although cheaper would be nice but I'd expect to pay 300 for one no problem if I was looking
