GOT THIS JEWL IN THE PIPE

    Hi SKS Junkies,

Just sent off the fundage and FFL paper work for this little guy, NIB. Snail mail, shipping and Kali "cooling off period" puts it 2 or 3 weeks out. On a positive note, the Alby guy moved our FTF up to the 16th, so I'll end up getting them both in my hot little hands, about the same time, and a Romy too, if it passes the muster. PAX

Very nice and as NIB as you can get. Any thoughts about adding a bayonet to it?

Imported as a "sporting rifle", so they didn't come with one. There's no threads in the screw hole, takes a special rivet, and a special short spike bayo.
        Nice find echo!

I know some SKS purists hate them, but I've been wanting one myself. If they were C&R eligible I'd have one already...

Thanks fellas. I like the Paratrooper length SKSs. I've got a couple store bought and a home grown one. The seller says that this one is cut for a blade bayo, which is rare in it's own right. Just happen to have a Para blade & rivet in my SKS stash. It's definitely a commercial model, and that rubber but pad is unique to the importer.

As per SKS Guide: "The last of the Paratroopers were imported through C&A in Virginia Beach Va. and sold by a company in Tucson called Omega Weapons Systems. These rifles had all the signs of late manufacture. Pinned barrel, Stamped trigger group. They even had a rubber butt pad made out of the same material used on the Sporters. No hole or trap door for a cleaning kit."

Kinda falls into the "I'm going to Gun Broker" category. When I found it, I gave a standing offer if he didn't move it at the asking price, before listing it on GB. I'm happy. It wasn't '80s prices, but good in todays Kali market. PAX

The butt pad had me puzzled. I've never seen one installed in the box before. great little rifle Echo.

SKSS isn't just a SKS with the barrel cut short, it has a shorter gas piston unique to the model. Mine has the trapdoor buttplate and the spike bayo. I had to hunt all over for the bayo and rivet.
Lucky find Echo, I haven't seen one for sale in a long time, and when you do, you're looking at $500+. Did you ever find all the scope set up for the "Rancher"? sporter?

I love the Paratrooper. Just feels right with that 16" barrel, not for everyone but I love em.

Then it would no longer be NIB. It would be bubba'd.

The rifle isn't an SKSS, just the manual.

I modified a Type 89 mount to fit the base. Looks "made-that-way" and works great. PAX
