I love the smell of Cosmoline!

        ... It smells like victory!

(If the "victory" has been dropped in a bucket of a homogeneous mixture of oily and waxy long-chain, non-polar hydrocarbons and then stored in a underground bunker for about 50 years.)

          Scraping, brushing, spraying, scrubbing, wiping.
We know what you are doing for the next few days!

Takes some pics in process and when done and post them up.

By the looks of the wood it looms like a Russian.

Gonna be a long weekend! It will be sad when it is all gone and the smell too. If they made a candle that smelled like cosmo I'd buy ten cases of them. Bonus if they looked like large rifle cartridges.

It would be nice to find an sks still in cosmoline for a decent price. I know its everyones favorite enemy but i take pride in stripping cosmo off. It also give you a nice tutorial of the firearms since you have to strip it all the way down, clean every little piece, then put it all back together.

Was this a J&G sale by chance? I noticed they raised the price a little on the gunsmith specials...

I got lucky and got 2 for bit more then those specials, hand picked so no cracks and no problems just usual wear and tear, but that's how I like them
