    Chinese VZ24

I bid on this on a whim. Kinda surprised I won it. It's a VZ24 that was issued to Czech Military acceptance and later delivered to China with the brands on the stock. I was looking for something that wasn't the run of the mill Chiang Kai Shek, though I am still looking for a better than average version of one of those as well. It'll go well with my other Chinese guns. Now, I just need to find more.

      How's the bore?

Virtually all Chaing Kai Shek rifles are non matching with sewer pipe bores.

I have a rare one with matching bolt.. and sewer pipe bore

I remember seeing a matching gun in excellent condition sell at auction a decade ago- for over a grand back then.

Bore is meh, not as bad as the total "sewer pipe" bores I have read about. And the best thing is, it isn't a Chiang Kai Shek. It is counterbored which in and of itself is odd with a Chinese Mauser, and there is rifling to be had. It is not fantastic, but ironically better than the actual "non-refurb" non-Chinese VZ24 I had.

Right side of the stock reads 'militia'. I can't make out the left side.

Cool gun, Just the right amount of wear and patina to make it look right.

Nice. Better quality than the indigenous versions too.

Supposed to be practice for what my wife tells me. Something along the lines of "do it and do it again, then do it a few more times, just in case, then, because you flubbed the last several times, do it a few more."

Basically an instructional rifle for the local militias.

Left side writes "practice/training". I have 2 type 24s and a German modell 33. They all have same markings on the stock. 2 out of 3 are smooth bores and all mismatch bolts. Interesting one tho is one of my type 24 is cocks on closing. I thought all 98s are cock on opening and the bolt had a 3rd safety lug.
