    last ditch K 98

I am visiting my friend in AZ next week. I plan to take lots of pictures of his neighbors wall hanger 1945 last ditch single shot K 98. I wish i could barrow it for a short time and bring it to share at the next WEGC shoot. But he is a friend of a friend. I still might ask it is in as issued condition complete.

I have Turk ammo. I'll give you some to shoot through it if you want.

I have been told it is pretty valuable, I doubt it has ever been fired. Maybe one time to surrender..

Ever since Darrin Weaver's Desperate Measures came out, the prices of these have shot up. https://www.amazon.com/Desperate-Mea.../dp/0889353727

I thought the rifle was a Frankenstein cut up redneck [ sporter until i saw it had no floor plate . The stock is so crude only a collector could love it.The history of this rifle can be traced to only two people .The present owner and his uncle that brought it home from Germany.

You know what would make you 10 times cooler? Some photos. Got me here thirsty for some k98k porn. Also I doubt a mauser can ever be as crude as a Mosin.

                Is it like this one?

They're saying it has a magazine built into the stock, not a single-shot. This is the first I've heard of these, is there another, single-shot version?

Yep, along with panzerfausts that was the "last" last ditch Volksturmm rifle fielded by the kids and elderly folks that were thrown against the Red Army in the closing weeks of the war. A lot of these people were sacrificed to slow down Russian infantry and armor advancing on the fuhrerbunker in order to buy hitler a few extra days in power.

Bobby you will get to see the pictures when i get back from the river the following Tuesday after next. The stock on the one you see for sale is way nicer than the one i saw at the house.I guess it is multi shot without a magazine floor plate. The wood looks like it was carved yesterday ruff ruff, no finish. It is for sure a un touched last ditch K 98, When i saw it i think the date was Feb 1945. I told him what it was. He said his uncle brought back other rifles but sold them over the years. He though this one was so ugly nobody would buy it.

Think the ad asks for $4,999.95 not $999.95.

They were going for near 2k five or more years ago.

And if you get one, make ready for the people who will say it is a fake and home made and then try to low ball it from you.

The $995.95 was on the Amazon link to the book, with others available from $62.00.

Sorry, thought you were discussing the rifle.

No idea what drugs the book seller is on.

It was two years ago that i inspected this gun. It is possible i am wrong on the dating . Your mind plays games on you in old age. I just remember something jumped out of me that this rifle was 1945. I will take pics of all the markings and details this weekend.
