I think you're out of luck to have it shipped, theres a 5 pound minimum pretty much everywhere. If you travel east on I-80 stop by Sierra gun supply in Auburn. They sell Goex and Swiss. Otherwise check with local muzzleloading clubs.

The cheapest online would be Graf's own brand (currently out of stock)

Graf & Sons, the reloading authority, has a wide selection of reloading supplies, shooting supplies, ammo and more.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

CA laws limits the amount of gun powder a non-exempt person can have to a maximum of 20 lbs of smokeless powder and a maximum of 1 lbs of black powder. [HSC 12102]

In order to legally have more than 1 lbs of black powder, you will need an explosives license (no limit) [HSC 12100] or pyrotechnic operator license (max. 5 lbs of black powder) [HSC 12101.5] from the CA Fire Marshal.

So, unless you are licensed by the CA Fire Marshal, you are (legally) limited to buying and possessing 1 lb of black powder at a given time.

          Health & Safety Code 12102
This chapter does not apply to any possession or use of 20 pounds or less of smokeless powder, or one pound or less of black sporting powder, provided that:
          (a) Smokeless powder is intended only for hand loading of small arms ammunition of .75 caliber or less.
          (b) Black sporting powder is intended for loading of small arms or small arms ammunition of .75 caliber or less.
          (c) All such powder is for private use and not for resale, and, in the case of black sporting powder, there shall be no gift, delivery, or other disposition to another person.
          (d) The storage, use and handling of such smokeless and black powder conforms to rules, regulations, or ordinances of authorities having jurisdiction for fire prevention and suppression in the area of such storage, use, and handling of such explosives.

I can't imagine there are many people in this state who use black powder and actually abide by the one pound limit. It just seems absurd.

Even the retailers seem to not care....case in point, Grafs will ship 4 pounds to any of us, no questions asked.....

So what do you re- enactors with large Cannons do out there?

1 pound would not last me 0ne Hour in my Cannons, let alone a whole Day.

I cannot fathom that all the participants have special licenses? Or is there a exemption for antique Cannons and such at events?

I believe the Federal Law is up to 50 pounds of Black Powder. Not that I can afford that much anyway.

According to that regulation crap the poster put above. Black Powder is not even intended for use in anything larger than .75 caliber. Idiots

It appears to exclude DDs, ammo, and primers...where is the reference to powder?

California does not have a specific definition of "ammunition". They always default to federal law:

I've been out of the sport for a while - Fed Law was 50 lbs...
I have no clue what limits and restrictions the Commies and Reconquistadors in Sacto have decreed and imposed

I'm not trying to call you out, just curious and want to see what's what; do you have any reference to CA using the Fed definition of loaded ammunition to include powder?
