I don't know the area very well, but there is Huntington's in Oroville they have a C&R rack and could probably tell you of any good shops in Chico, or stop at Safer Arms indoor range in Chico and ask them.

+1 for Huntington's. I'm not familiar with any in Chico.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

Chico is mostly college type community. I think Oroville is your best bet. If you're going near Elk Grove, there's Wild Bills, but they're very spendy. PAX

A long time ago I went to a tackle shop on Park Avenue that had firearms. They had a couple Arisakas and other used firearms, don't know what they might have now or if it's still there.

Very little in the 'used' gun market there, Oroville or Redding is your best shot. Huntingtons or Olde West. Used to see som up in Paradise, but it's been years, and he seemed pricey even back then .

Chico cemetery has a Civil War section with a big statue of a Civil war veteran.
My Great great grandpa is buried in that section.

                    What plum said.
Safer Arms is ok for the indoor range and PPT's, but their Inventory sucks. The owner just doesn't seem to care. They had some C&R stuff on consignment for awhile, but I think most of it is gone now. And Downrange I just don't get a good feel from. They only have new stuff, and limited inventory at that, also. But at least they expect you to allow them to record all your personal information and log every purchase you ever make, even for $0.50 earplugs. Seriously annoying, esp. when pro 2A should be against extra unnecessary paperwork.
Worth a run up to Paradise to CW Enterprises for C&R stuff. Stop by Paradise Pawn on the way back.

^lol haha Dutch. I'm getting what you're putting down. I am just sayin'.
But I'm kinda old school. I like my shops to have a grumpy older guy behind the counter who has forgot more about guns than I know. But then again I've been called grumpy myself before.

It has been a bunch of years since I was there, but Huntington's had a gun museum in the back behind the retail area that was to die for, if your into looking and drooling.
