FRENCH MAS 49 or 49/56 - Question

FRENCH MAS 49 or 49/56

Looking to buy one but the "Grenade Launcher" crap. I have read it is fairly difficult to remove, also read in other boards (when googling it) that is not considered a grenade launcher in Kalifornia.

Any comments/suggestions? I am a 03 FFL holder

It is a GL - I bought mine from out of state with the GL removed by the previous owner -
