    FFL03 - I did a stupid thing...

So I was filling out the forms for my C&R license and I forgot to put my SSN on it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after it went in to the mail.

I did have an attachment because I answered yes to the first part of question 11 (I previously had an FFL03 that expired 2 years ago). On that attachment i do include my social number.

Has anyone had experience with this? Do you think I'll get a call for the info, or are they more likely to just kick out my application as incomplete?
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

No experience with an FFL, but think of it this way. The federal government likes to spend money on things that generally don't help you out in any way. So why would they spend the time to call you about something as small as that. Just my .02. Maybe you will get lucky but I would count on them kicking it out.

        Did they charge you?

I just gave them credit card info was all.

if thats the case, I might send in another tomorrow with a cover letter saying I had left my social off.

I just dealt with this issue in November 2016 and spoke to BATFE licensing about it. Here is my experience and what they told me about it:

After reading the C&R application instructions, I decided not to provide my SSN. Item 4 of the Privacy Act Information section of the instructions explains that failure to provide requested information may result in delay or denial, but then it goes to to state that providing a SSN is voluntary. Here is that section verbatim (emphasis added):

"4. Effects of Not Supplying Information Requested. Failure to supply complete information will delay processing and may result in denial of the application. The following information is provided pursuant to Section 7(b) of the Privacy Act of 1974: Disclosure of the individual's social security number is voluntary.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't realized they needed a copy of my old license. my attachment was simply a statement it had expired.

I'm going to take a risk and resend today via priority mail....this should beat my application sent on saturday 1st class....

Worst case I get two case numbers and I let the second one expire with a refund.

Sorry if I was not clear, but I did not submit an actual copy of my prior license. I had to resubmit with my prior license number and I stated that it expired.

I had my O3 application sent back to me about a month after I sent it in. I had forgot to sign on the credit card authorization for the application fee. I just had to sign the original and send it back. When they returned it, the app came with a cover note with a contact name for the examiner and file number, so it would go right back to the person to resume processing. I received the license about three weeks later.

So would assume, if you want to supply the SSN, you would probably get a chance without too much of a time penalty.

FCM and Priority mail are not treated differently in the mail system.
That is, according to the delivery statistics of many packages I've sent.

Just an update. Both applications have arrived..not sure if the good one appeared first or not but I already have two credit card charges.

Based upon this thread I assume one will be refunded at some point.

Before I had an FFL03 and COE I used to have money.
