My friend's friend inherited some firearms and is going to sell them. Two of them are MGs converted to semi-auto (I think, haven't seen them). 1919a4 Browning and maybe a 1917. He wants north of 2k apiece. Any ideas what they actually are and value? I will get more info tomorrow.

Sell them on gunbroker. Block the mags to 10 rounds before next monthBe sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

If they are, or even were, full auto at one time, they are illegal to own or sell without the proper Federal registrations. The rule is "Once a machinegun, ALWAYS a machine gun". A carbine marked M2, even though all of the parts are semi auto only is still considered a machine gun because that's how it was ORIGINALLY built. Again, once a mg, always a mg. Be very careful with those and if they are mg's, stay far, far away from them and you've never seen your buddy before--EVER.

If the firearm was de milled correct and follow all the ATF guidelines when rebuilding the firearm to a semi auto it is legal. If they are, or even were, full auto at one time, they are illegal to own or sell without the proper Federal registrations. The 1919a4 will have some machine work done to the internals as well as a semi side plate that has a island on it shown below .
