    Range time M1 Garand

I finally got to the range and put some rounds through my 43 M1 Garand I picked up on GunBroker in early April. 30-06 is a real thumper made my AR feel like a 22 [emoji23], I was impressed with the accuracy, rifle shoots better than me. My old eyes with glasses and the peep sight was a challenge, had to look over my glasses or it was a blur. Received a couple of compliments on the rifle from guys at the range. Overall can't wait to shoot it some more, want to take it to the 100 yard range and do some sit down supported shots

Get a Turner's (or any other quality) sling. It will make shooting offhand quite a bit more fun.

Nice. The Garands are a lot of fun to shoot and everyone ejoys seeing them at the range. They are head turners for sure.

Congrats OP. Good for you. I wish I could get my father to the range with his Garand.

(Although I couldn't imagine shooting a Garand indoors!) Good for you. I'd shoot next to you (for a few minutes anyway).)

Nice. You were running it at an indoor range?
Must have been barking for sure. Congrats.

                    I recognize that range
The 100 yd lanes with the camera are a nice way to go - give it a try next time out.

I've been told by friends in the next lane over that the concussion from my M1 is pretty intense but certainly no worse than those caused by some compensator/breaks.

M1 are great rifles, fun to shoot to boot. When I take mine to the range, the 100 yard steel gong gets plenty of action. The guys shooting their ARs at that gong sure do look around when they see the gong get hit with a 30 06 compared to their 223, so much more power. One time the guy next to us got a little pissed when I hit the gong and it flipped over the top and got stuck. He said now what am I going to shoot at? I told him wait a second, I'll see if I can set back for you, I picked the gong off the top of the rack, slamming it back down so he could shoot at it again. He just looked at my M1 with iron sights and shook his head as he looked at his AR with a scope. Just got to love the M1

Do a internet search for "free SR1 targets " print those off, they are much easier to see and use. They are 100 yd targets
Use a 6 Oclock hold on them

That must have been one of the LEET snipahs I see at my range, peppering a 50 yard silhouette target from a rest with a scoped AR-15. It gets boring to shoot surgical 14" groups at that distance so it gets broken up with warfaced mag dumps into the surrounding hillsides, hitting nothing in particular as war cries of "Geeeeetttt Sssuuummmm" echo across the firing line. Nods of respect are seen all around by his entourage stacked up behind him in skinny cut camo and designer combat bootlets. The spent brass flung everywhere is outnumbered only by the unrelenting longsticked selfies, obligatory mugging "pose with rifles" group photos, and Starbucks / Panera Bread detritus strewn about the line as they exfil out to recon for a decent WiFi signal.

Sounds like a great range, what range is this?
