FFL 03/COE Exemptions

Hi Guys so I will be getting my 03 and COE soon and want to provide my FFL 01 with Exemptions that I have. If I can have links to penal codes or DOJ website that would be great.

1. So does the 1 handgun in 30 days apply to a person buying a Modern handgun not through PPT with a COE/FFL 03?

2. And the 10 day waiting period with a COE/FFL03..Can I take home a non C&R handgun and or long gun the same day of purchase>

You are still able to buy ammo online and ship to your residence with your valid FFL license on file with the vender.

{On November 8, 2016, the State of California passed Proposition 63, also known as the Safety For All Act. This wide sweeping legislation resulted in several changes to California laws regarding guns and ammunition.

While the Safety for All Act changes many things, most importantly to you as a MidwayUSA Customer, it makes the sale of ammunition via the internet, to any individual who does not possess an FFL or other legally documented exception to the law, illegal as of January 1, 2018.

All California ammunition transactions, to private individuals, without legal exceptions, occurring on or after January 1, 2018 must happen face to face. Therefore, on December 24th, 2017 MidwayUSA will no longer be able to ship ammunition to you without a valid FFL license in California. The December 24th date allows enough time for delivery of ammunition, from our shipping facility, to our California Customers before the law takes effect.

While there are other documented exceptions to this law, MidwayUSA is currently unable to manage exceptions beyond a valid FFL. If you are an FFL holder, please check to make sure we have your valid FFL on file at MidwayUSA to prevent any delays in your shipment. }

Spoke with SG Ammo rep about this earlier this year and she stated they would not continue to sell to CA after 1/1/18 due to new ammo laws and additional paperwork required to verify legal transaction and related liabilities...Kommiefornia!

Might as well get your COE if you have an FFL03, they go hand in hand for CA transactions. The email doesn't mention requiring a COE but you might as well have it. Anything can change in the upcoming months and venders can change there mind either way at anytime. SG Ammo may decide to sell to FFL license holders if there is a market for them...

Good morning. I just received an e-mail from you concerning shipping ammunition to CA. I live in CA and am aware of Prop 63. Your e-mail says that will ship to a valid FFL holder. I wanted to get some clarification on this. The Prop says that people with a valid FFL 03 and CA COE can receive shipments. I have both, can you confirm that you will ship to me once you have my documents on file please? Thank you.
