Range Day Winner

Had a chance to take a long over due range trip out to Angeles today.

Great day of shooting with some friends and a chance to break in some new to me rifles.

Each of my friends had a favorite but for me the clear stand out was my Luxembourg FN-49

With the help of my friend spotting and a lead sled I was able to ring the red plate at 600 yards with iron sights Man that is a sweet shooting rifle.

Awesome I love my 8mm FN49 and want the Luxembourg one as well but how did you get to bring that 762x39 Tula in there I have got told to not shoot that there as they do not allow steel case.

I prefer the Yellow box as it is cheaper and non corrosive.

As I understand it, steel CASE (steel cartridge case) is fine. They don't want you shooting steel JACKETED (steel bullet jackets). That right?

That is correct , if you are unsure just do the magnet test. If it attracts to a magnet its a no go.

Man, the more I see your black stock SKS the more I like it....wish I had a trashy stock on one of mine to play with. The burnt texture is awesome

Thanks, yeah first time shooting it, put about 100 rounds down range and no signs of any structural weakness or anything like that whatsoever. The blow torch experiment is so far so good.

I didn't even realize that was the burnt stock on your SKS. I thought it was just an aftermarket black stock. It looks good and uniquely different, especially since you can see the wood grain popping through.
