    2 New C&R Bolt Actions

Just picked up these 2 New Bolt action Rifles.

    1. Is an Brazilian Mauser in 30-06. I really like the wood on this rifle. Is there anything specific to know when shooting this rifle? I will probably stick to 150gr or less.

    2. Ishapore 2A1. I have done some research on these Ishapore and people have said they can be inaccurate due to the fact that the barrel and barrel crown is touching the wooden hand guards and is not even close to free floated. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? And with this I should probably stick with just 762x51 correct?

I would take the rifles to the range myself and draw my own conclusions on both of the above questions. The internet is a handy source of info but there are 10 pounds of FUD for every ounce of of truth out there.

Dude a mauser action like the Brazilian can handle almost any load you put in it. 180 grn loads no problem.

Bobby speaks the truth. Shoot it and see. Use quality ammunition when you do the test shooting.

          Nice score.

It's an Indian Enfield, and at least as accurate .303 Brit. I have a couple and wouldn't hesitate to shoot. 308 in it. The actions are quite strong. PAX

Assuming that brazillian mauser is a 98 action (it certainly looks like it is), it can handle pretty much any safe .30-06 load out there. I think the heaviest bullet I've seen a load for in a reloading manual is 220 grains for 06.

I agree that you need a range trip to see how each performs. The 2A1 might just surprise you with how well it shoots. They are not target rifles, they are battle rifles so you won't be shooting one ragged hole but the 2A1s will do fine if you do your part. Stick to 7.62x51 and you won't have any problems with over pressure.
