I hit one of the clothes markets here in Bangkok - last week - there are dozens of Siamese Adrians for sale here - I don't think the extra weight involved in shipping them would make it worthwhile - but interesting to note such a huge source of them.
Maybe interesting to a French helmet collector - ?
A lot of Vietnam US helmets, too, although not so sure they are all original.
Bought a lot of tigerstripe and old camouflage gear.
Garand bayonets are 2000baht, which is about $50 and they are very common.
Otherwise all the usual grubby military VN era stuff.Pitfighter.

Insults or insinuations of cowardice toward the French military should be preceded by a resume of the combat experience by the person making the insults.Comment

I have a couple of 2dREP pals (working with them presently in BKK), I'd love to witness the armchair warriors insult one of them in person - actually, it would probably only take a glance.
On a more intellectual front, any student of military history will attest to the fundamental opposite being true of French forces in combat, the caveat being that they have been possessed of some of the very worst in Officer and tactical leadership over the centuries - but this is a more complex issue, that goes beyond the national level and was (not is) more of a class issue.
Cry Camerone, and attack - attack, attack.
This company sized wipe-out - whilst out numbered and out of ammunition was the corner stone of a victory that became Cinquo De Mayo.
Next time you enjoy a beer on the 5th of May, consider the bravery of French troops.Last edited by pitfighter; 03-30-2017, 9:06 PM.Pitfighter.
