    .303 BOOLITS

    Hi Fellas,

My 2 groove MK4 #1* sport job doesn't like boat tail projectiles. I want to loan it to my bud for next deer season. Can anybody give me a good commercial ammo recommendation, so he can get some range time behind it? I've only shot surplus FMJ through it.

    Thanks, PAX

I think Remington and Winchester both make a flat base point round but not lead free.

If you reload, Hornady makes a 150 gr flat based projectile at .312

+1 Hornady 150gr is the one you want. Out of my No4s, it is POA/POI at 100 yards with the rear sight flipped up. My load is 40.7gr IMR4064 with that bullet.

Not only that, but you can't use that bullet anymore for hunting in California.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!
