    COE form?

So I plan on leaving California in the next 12-14 months, but I figure it would save me money just shipping them to me, rather than through my dealer.

So what is the deal with the COE?
Does everyone have to have one?

I dont believe you need anything to ship your rifle to yourself in another state.

There are a lot of us that have both a C&R FFL and a COE. Both are necessary in order to legally receive C&R Long Guns. Non C&R guns and all pistols must go through DROS at an FFL.

So is it necessary to get a C/R in California or should I send the forms out without doing all the live scan.

Is there a place where one can learn how to get a C/R in this state? So much contradicting information..

C&R is a federal license-regardless of your "state of residence". COE is commifornia's method of extortion and making life difficult for you as a firearms enthusiast.

If you are leaving this state in 12-14 mos, I wouldn't give prk the the $$. If you're desired acquisitions can wait, file your fed c&r app when you are a "free" citizen of America.

I agree, if you're moving out of state in the next year, I would hold off on getting the COE. You'll be in free America by then and can have the C&R guns shipped to your door.

What those other guys said about waiting is probably what you ought to do.

A C&R FFL and a COE are both required for you to receive C&R long guns without going through an FFL dealer. Having one of them isn't terribly useful for the purpose of receiving guns.

^^^^ ONLY in the crapped out state of kalufirnia. AFAIK, no other state has a "Certificate of Eligibility" requirement or law that otherwise restricts the exercise of a federal C&R license.

Most other states don't have a waiting period for firearms so a COE would be pointless in most states.

Agreed, I applied last Oct, got nothing in return, can't even ask what's happening. I'm moving to a free and Class 3 state in 4 weeks.
Wasted time effort and money. If you are moving save your time and money then enjoy freedom in your new state. I'm actually hoping they will finally come through so I can send it back and tell them to stuff it!
