    1911 Style C&Rs

    Hello All,

My first gun purchase was a Sig 1911 45acp, and now I'm attached to that style. After getting my C&R/COE I've purchased two guns that in the same design family; a Yugo Tokarev and a Star Model B which I paid for today. What other mil-surp models followed Browning's design?

Ultimately I plan on getting a WWII era 1911 for the historical factor, but will have to wait a while for that. I love the history behind these mil-surps....

Sistema 1927 and Kongsberg M/1914 are "true" 1911 style guns. Ballester Molina mentioned above. For looks, Star model B. My Femaru 37m has been called a "mini 1911" by some.

My Norwegian M/1914. The history behind these is awesome. Commonly referred to as the Nazi Colt. They were used by pro-Nazi forces during WW2. 920 1945 dated examples have Waffenampts, Beetle has 2!!

Make sure your bank account is in order. The better looking your specimen
is---- the higher the price tag, good luck! The blue Colt Military in my picture from 1941 is from just before parkerization started. I've had it close to thirty years,it was a gift from a friend. I've been told it's probably worth 5 figures.

I was going to say Norwegian 1911 and the Radom.
But I was beaten to it -

John Browning was no dummy for sure.

I think the S&W model 39 might have some of those features.

If you can ever find one a ballister molina is what I'd recommend. They can be had for around $450.
