    Colt SAA

I was just reading through the current C & R list - it says all Colt SAA (2nd Gen) made from 1956 to 1976 are C & R eligible. Is this a surprise to anyone or am I the only one?

I presume the only Colt SAAs made during that time are by definition 2nd Gen - as in, being made from '56 to '76 is what makes then 2nd, as opposed to 1st made before WWII, correct?

That does seem odd. Wonder how they justify the less than 50 years old bit?

You say "gun nut" like it's a bad thing

There are exceptions to the 50 yr old rule, and this is one of them. My guess is that they're essentially saying "ok, these things really belong in the collectible class of firearms, because they are the same as earlier Colts and they're collectible."

There are all sorts of exceptions to the 50 year requirement, I was just a bit surprised to find the Colt on it. I've had my damn C & R and COE for 8 months and have yet to do the "cash & carry" bit, wouldn't mind making a Colt SAA my 1st endeavor. I see them in the Bay Area for about $1,200.00 or so.
