    Bren LMG

Hi, new to the forum and wondering if any members have any 7.62mm L4 LMGs. I split my time between Ridgecrest and the UK so have interests in the Brens in both areas.

I had a couple of semis in .303 many years ago, but got rid of them during my last divorce.

I don't own a Bren, but it's on my list when I move to a free state. I have only seen the .303 British version but the 7.62x51 version would be easier to find ammo for and less expensive to shoot.

Can you get a Bren rechambered in 7.62x54r? I know a few guys who have 1919s rechambered or adapted to 7.62x54r, still the cheapest available .30 cal ammo out there. Who knows, if Trump and Putin go golfing and partying, the Russian ammo pipeline may open up again?

I think Apex Gun Parts has the kits and you can contact a member here named Kiwi to discuss doing a reweld.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm not short of a Bren or two, I have an addiction and wondered if there were any fellow addicts in the Kern county area.

Anybody know if the ZB version was ever made in 7x57 for a South or Central American army? I was in Costa Rica recently and saw a photo from their (I hope last!) Civil War in 1948 which included what I thought was a ZB26.

Found out the ZB in the Costa Rica photo was an original ZB-26 in 7.92. Probably smuggled in for the festivities. Many were available right after WWII from various sources, new and "used."

I have a MKII converted to shoot 54r. Tons of fun here in the OC.

I think I saw one at Gunrunners, Duarte a few years back. It was semi auto, of course. I saw another one at the same time at Rettings. That one was inoperative and selling for the same price.

I had one of the nicer (earlier demil) kits that wasn't cut through the barrel locking area, and had overlapping pieces with intact markings. Came with the semi instructions and some of the parts. Sold it. Regretted selling it. Would have been a fun build. Although that was also when .303 brit was easier to come by.
The Brens with the WW2 markings crossed out and the new ones rolled in are pretty cool. From gazzavc's post here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...=32973&page=18

My problem is if I kept my Bren or L1A1 kit, or bought one of the Sarco L4 kits, I'd end up with Sterlings and stens and enfields and all sorts of other stuff I don't have the space, time, or money for it.
Always needed in a Bren thread:

Damn, I'd love to have an L4A3 eventually. One day, hopefully....I wish someone made receivers for these guns.
