Shipping a C&R Handgun within California

Question... Did a search and got some very different takes on what is legal vs not when shipping a C&R, non-rostered handgun.

Can I receive from a private party, through an 01FFL a C&R Handgun within the State?

Shipping would be from Sacramento to So. Cal, private party to 01FFL.

Yes as long as you are shipping to a 01FFL but a private party would have to ship via UPS or FedEx. USPS will only allow FFL's to ship handguns. It may be cheaper to ask a local FFL to ship it via USPS.

You have to to through a 01 FFL for any transfer of a handgun.

But, to answer your question regarding off-roster. If a handgun qualifies as a C&R it doesn't fall under the same rules as your typical glocks. Just make sure magazine is 10 rounds or less.

If you have your FFL03 & COE you can skip the 10 day wait.

It's a revolver, so no issues with mag capacity.

          Yes it can be shipped
No on ppt. It will be a 1 in 30 rule if some requirements are not met. None of my ffl have done it ppt. But I have COE and c@r so it's still cash and carry.
Some ffl's have problems with in coming from private party's. Do ask the ffl before shipping.

Keep in mind this is my take on it, check with ffl before moving forward.

Anyone have a link to a governmental agency with this info (CA DOJ, I'm guessing?). Empire Arms site is the best I can find, but I don't think that's going to cut it for the seller.

Sorry for the necro-post, did a search and this was the closest subject matter thread.

California Firearms Licensee Check (CFLC) Program Are there any costs or fees to obtain a Firearms Shipment Approval number from the Department of Jusice (DOJ)? I am not a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) but I want to ship a firearm from another state to an FFL in California. Do I need to obtain a Firearm Verification Number before shipping a firearm to California? I am an FFL in California. How does the CFLC program affect me? Are any California FFLs exempt from the CFLC verification approval requirement? I am an FFL located outside of California.
