Nipple stuck on cylinder, advice on removal?

I had this piece in storage for a bit, took it out today, got some rust here and there and getting ready to clean it up, removed all of the nipples but one is just stuck like it's become one with the cylinder.

Just about killed by hand removing it, any advice?

Soak it with some Liquid Wrench.

Kriol works well too. In addition, you can heat the nipple with a soldering iron. The heat expansion might help, and there isn't enough heat to damage anything.

I use Oil of Wintergreen, put a few drops on both sides wait 5 minutes then a good fitting wrench and out it will come.
I put a small dab of choke lube when I reinstall them.

Worst case scenario is it has to be drilled out and easy out'ed or retapped.

Actually if you can't get it out then try not to mess wit up and just leave it in there. I know a old timer that never removes his and he shoots often, when he is done for the day he puts the cylinder in a pan of boiling water and wipes it down and shoots again.
They really don't need to be removed as much as we do this.

Had a similar sitchyation...... I soaked with WD40 and bought the ratchet style nipple wrench from Dixie Gun Works. Worked very well, very strong nipple wrench, but it is around $20. Good luck!

If you were local I would offer to do what I had to do for 2 of my guns and make a custom nipple wrench with hex head or t handle.

buy a left hand drill then use an easy out. Then, from now on use anti seize.

+1 for letting it soak in some kroil or wd40.

                          Teeth. Always recommended for nipples.

You know, I replaced all the cones but one with aftermarket ones.

The one that's remaining is on a chamber that's never loaded and gets used for safe carry and dryfire practice.
