    North Korean weapons.

What was the primary long gun the N koreans used in the Korean war. I know they used almost everything that the Chinese got their hands on during and after WW2.My guess is 91 30s and M 44 Mosins.
What happened to all the guns the UN forces captured during the war ? .

Anything WW2 Soviet vintage. When the Chinese entered the war they had the same Soviet WW2 era small arms plus WW2 Japanese, U.S., and pre-war stuff such as FN made BARs along with Allied supplied Inglis Brens and Browning pistols, #4 rifles, Stens, German and Chinese made Mauser rifle and pistols, etc.

I have a 1945 Izhevsk M44 that's mostly matching and non import marked with a battlefield memoir written on the stock. I have every reason to believe it's a Korea bringback but no true proof. The battle memoir on the stock matches a confrontation between the US and DPRK.

They also used tons of Japanese Arisakas. So much so that there was a lot of Chinese made ammo for them on the surplus market years ago. Also all types and sizes of Mausers, and also US made weapons from China.

They used whatever they could find regardless of country of origin.

A lot of the equipment we gave the Chinese in WW 2 was never used to fight the Japanese.Local war lords horded it for the comming battle with the REDS.Why the chinese were so bad at fighting the japanese and so good at fighting US i will never know.

PPSh-41 'burp gun' was very common along with Mosin rifles. And all manner of Soviet hand me downs.

They used communist doctrine...Attack in massive numbers. A means to a end when body count doesn't matter. Plus they caught the Americas off guard, USA wasn't expecting china intervention in the Koren war.

The Japanese fighting in China was like hitting a man when he is down

China was in terrible shape at the time, lots of political turmoil, famine, not yet industrialized

no, navy, no AF the Japanese knew this for years, thats why they planned it to try and take it when they were down, but taking / or trying to conquer a country and take away the land was out of style by the 1940's

the Japanese would never have a chance to try that again, even if they could build up their military again, no chance.

The Japanese were fanatics - disciplined, motivated, and ruthless. The Japanese Army was an army of monsters. Just look at all the war crimes they committed. The Japanese invented the suicide bomber. You couldn't even help their wounded because there was a good chance the Japanese soldier would let off a grenade. I think the Chinese put up as good a fight as could be expected especially with all the unrest going on in China at the time.

The US did alright against the Chinese; we did push them back after their invasion of Korea. We learned how to deal with their superior numbers with land mines and other anti personnel weapons.
