The Norinco SKS is not a C&R firearm (recent production). The bayonet have to be removed I think.
And it needs the fixed mag for California.

NO need to remove the bayo.
Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

Removing the bayo seems to be dependent on what FFL you use. Some will insist that it be removed others don't care. It's a federal thing in any case. If you can prove that the rifle came in before the executive order import ban ('90?) then leave it on for sure. But really, I don't think range masters or others who frequent ranges will care all that much. There's so much FUD out there even they are confused.

the bayonet is not a problem on the weapon, its legal.

For clarification, (and a question I have always wondered about). Do all sks fixed mags have the feature where the floor plate of the mag hinges to dump the rounds out? Just confirming that this is a "fixed Mag".

On my Norinco SKS It is easy to remove the box Magazine and use a 30 rnd detachabel magazine , Its is illegal to do so though .

Leave the bayonet on, after shooting the mellons you can run them through with your bayonet.

                            i'm curious about something

you know how we can sumulate full auto fire by bumpfiring

well with the hinged fixed magazine we can simulate a large capacity by unhooking the back of the mag load in like 12 or 13 and and fire them off while holding the bottom closed but not all the way
