Is it still allowed to buy a C&R rifle out of State (in CA) and have it shipped to you ?
Seller has a FFL03 and I am a FFL03 and COE holder
Below is what I found on Denis website
Thanks gents !
Summary of California C&R (Class 03) FFL related law, UPDATED March 1st, 2015.
Using your C&R Class 03 FFL you can buy from anyone and receive from out of state by common carrier, in conformity with federal law, any firearm that cannot be readily concealed on the person, i.e. long rifle, that is a federally defined C&R that is at least 50 years old (actually manufactured in or before 1964) excluding of course machine guns. Since January 1st, 2014 you must ALSO have (besides a C&R license) a current California COE (Certificate of Eligibility) in order to receive C&R long guns through the mail (or via a common contract carrier such as UPS or FEDEX).
After 01/01/2014 the 50-year old rule will no longer be in place. If it is on the Federal C&R list, and you have a Class 03 FFL (C&R license) as well as a COE, you can legally have the C&R-eligible long arms shipped directly to the address on your C&R FFL. The only exception are rifles considered by the state of California to be a "Destructive Device", which means any rifle equipped with an integral grenade-launcher (including the Yugoslavian 1959/66 SKS, the Spanish Model FR-7 and FR-8, French MAS 1936-51, MAS-49 and MAS 1949-56) are totally illegal due to all those "drive by grenade-ings" we are always reading about. (sarcasm, since not a single instance has yet happened).
