Here ya go, all from the ATF website.

The form is F 7CR (5310.16). You can find it on the last link over on the right side.

This should get you started. I also suggest getting a COE from Cal DOJ/ BoF

    Also found this...pretty helpful http://www.curioandrelicarms.com/ffl_license_info.htm

FTF in CA, the answer is no (as long as the long arm is over 50 years old). All handguns must go thru an 01FFL.

Then what are the main reasons for requiring a c&r license?

For non-handguns (rifles, shotguns) and for discount, direct shipment to house of long guns, no 10-day waiting at the store for long guns, etc.

Has anyone requested the forms recently? If so, how long did it take to get your forms.

I requested the forms the first week of January and haven't heard anything yet.

                  Thanks!

There is nothing in the statutes that specify a FTF for unlicensed California residents transferring long guns more than 50 years old, ie, you can do it through the mail. The seller must be reasonably certain that the buyer is a California resident and not prohibited from possessing a firearm. The buyer possessing a CR license is a great help in this, but not necessary.

I just received my C&R application in the mail today. Got a question, Item #14 asks to read and initial off. The first one says "The activity to be conducted under the Federal firearms license is not prohibited by State or local law at the premises shown in Item 3. This includes compliance with zoning ordinances."

I live in Irvine, CA. It's my guess that they are pretty strict here as far as zoning ordinances. How do I know if it's ok? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
