    Swedish CG 63 at Simpsons

Simpsons has a few CG 63 target rifles and seem to be reasonably priced. Any info on these? With apeture sights. Sample listing CG-63

CG/63's are fantastic rifles. The prices are very very good....These usually sell for over $600

Don't know why they are so cheap...

I've owned at least 20 of these... Beautiful guns.

    Some of mine.

SVT-40, what is the bottom rifle in the second pic with the heavier barrel and stock?

It looks like a CG63 with the optional forend attachment that allows you to install a utility rail. While it could also be a heavy barrel, it looks like it has the plastic heatshield on top.

Yup, It has the added utility rail embedded in the added wood...The barrel is a bit heavier, and is a Schultz and Larsen barrel. The rifle was made from a Husqvarna rifle and converted to Cg/63 by Norma in 1964.

The rifle also has a rubber heat mirage shield over the barrel...

Very cool. I've not seen one in that configuration before. Is it more comfortable to shoot with the larger forend? The rubber heat deflector is an interesting concept. How well does the deflector work compared to your other CG 63s without one?

The added forend just adds weight... So rested prone is no problem.. The heat shield, to me would not add any accuracy... Maybe to a master marksman... But not me.
