    Mosin Accessories

Hi, everybody. I get my Mosin M44 out of jail this coming Wednesday, and I'm looking for ideas on accessories. I don't mean modifications to the rifle, but I'm talking about support kit, ammo pouches, stripper clips, LBE gear and the like. Do any of you have recommendations? I already have the rubber butt pad extension, cleaning kit and sling. Thanks!

Stock up on ammo - lots of ammo!

Ha! that was a good one.
Anyhow , the best strippers I ever found were Bulgarian Circle 10.
Better even than the stainless Soviets.
No Tapcos or other junk ever worked.

Rubber but pad?? I'll keep quiet on that note.

Something that's always nice to have stored away is old surplus cans of ammo. I think they are pretty rare nowadays though.

I can toss around mockery with the best of them, but I don't think that is deserved here based on the OP's question. He is looking for basic stuff for his Mosin. It isn't as if he is looking for a camo archangel stock and a ghillie suit.

There was so much 54R available just a couple years ago, that I think a lot people are sitting on tons of it. I have 5-6 cans of it and it is hard to burn through too much of it unless you have a semi auto. $100 a can was the norm for a long time. Figure 2X that now on the secondary market.

It's even funnier when you mention the sling and the stripper clips with the rubber butt pad because then you have much more explaining to do.

Thank you for the other replies. There's actually a lot of surplus 54r out there but finding it under $200 is the trick.

You want heavy ball for that m44

That is now rare compared to light ball surplus

I'm not familiar with "heavy ball". Is that found in commercial loads?

I have about 100 rounds of heavy ball left; I save it for mall ninjas who ask to shoot my m38 .
