    Ruined, Bastardized and Bubba'd Garand

    Or not.

    and the coup de grace:

Apparently it has only around 200 rounds through it, the original owner's label is on the op rod for those who know him or have shot with him. I'm excited to get it out at an XTC match but I'm really hoping to see how she shoots at 600 and 1k. This is part of a 3 pronged attack at a Long Range NRA Master card with a service rifle. We will see.

Yep - Bubbaed. Just can't get behind a .308 Garand. On the otherhand it should be a good shooter. Plywood stocks are very stable.

For those who don't know who Don McCoy was http://m14forum.com/steel-wood/10404...oy-passes.html
        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Hopefully this fixed the pix. Picassa is starting to suck for this.

YY (the previous owner) went double distinguished in 1995. The label comes off when I go double distinguished, not before.

Match Conditioned by McCoy is most definitely not "Bubba'd".

laminate stocks for Service Rifle competition are widely used on the Garand. I bet that thing shoots like a house a'fire.

I drool over that rifle. Nice find, OP.

When I first saw that stock, I wasn't impressed.

I retrospect, I kind of like, especially if you don't have an original stock. Maybe a laminate stock which closely matches an original's color(s).

I like the look......er but would not rock it on any of my Garands.

                            I like it!
What barrel does he have on it? The local shop has one and it has a SA 1965 year 762 barrel on it. Where did he (Don McCoy) get all these 762 barrels to build rifles?

If you own it, you have a great rifle. I got myself a AFPG m1 in 762 and no need to look for anything. But now you got me thinking.

Check the sticker just below Mc Coy for a possible clue as to the barrel.
