CAI Marked Garand Question

This just popped up about 2 hours from me. I know nothing about CAI marked garands and haven't found much online other than they may be korean imports?

Are they worth anything? Should I add this to my other garands?

I think the reviews are generally against Century Garands. For $700+ you should probably just pay a little more for a CMP one.

Found a few more threads on another site. Looks like the consensus a few years ago was they were parts rifles or kinda beater garands.

I've got some already so maybe not a good candidate for the next one then.

Did these have the CAI manufactured receiver? If so, I'd pass. A USGI one isn't that much more. I don't know too much about the CAI Garands but have seen horror stories about the CAI/ Blue Sky M1 carbines.

He's had it several decades, so it must be old... Hahaha!
It's on a CAI receiver, so it's somewhat new. I have one just a few #'s higher. Fit and Finish are nice, parts fit correctly. But wouldn't pay that much. It's a parts gun because of the bad reviews.
( I had no problems with any of the parts) Mine shot perfect and never had any malfunctions.
Just to clear up the decades joke, I bought mine new 12-14 years ago.

Turners had them on sale for $400 about 15 years ago. They blew. Mine worked but was out of spec you nearly had to stand on the clip to force it in the gun.

I've never seen one with a banner like that. For sure save a little more and buy a cmp. How about barrel ID? Is that stamped on the barrel too?

Also, if any one who has ever bought one, tell us the problems.

I (we) want real reviews, not internet hear say.

I have a black powder rifle in 50 cal, and it won't load my 50bmg round, something is wrong with the rifle, I will search the web and find the real problem.

Barrels will be marked, most of the time like usgi barrels. Some usgi, some Danish, some Italian, and maybe others too.

CAI is an aftermarket receiver that was often out of spec and didn't run right. IMHO, $700 is way too expensive. As was stated, you might be better off getting one from the CMP.
CAI usually have USGI parts, so if it came cheap enough, and could locate a USGI receiver, it might be possible to swap every over. But, one would be taking a big chance.
