    I've always wanted one of the reproductions, an original is in my future anytime soon. I prefer the look of the ones without the front grip (like in the pictures above). I'll wait until I'm out of CA and possibly look into the SBR.

      When I lived in Pennsylvania a buddy had an M1 Thompson and another friend had an MP40, STG 44, and MG 42. At that time in the 70s C&R full auto guns were fairly accessible there, price-wise. We took them out to the woods to shoot. I had the shag the brass from the STG 44 since it was all hand made and the cases were like gold.

        That's the M1 and M1A1 WW2 versions.

        IMO they have superior actions- half the moving parts, same functionality. Only downside is you can't toss a drum on it and do your Al Capone impersonation
