It's a Hawken rifle, but I'm not sure if it's a modern repro or an old one.

It kind of looks like a Lyman Trade Rifle. If that's what it is, new ones go for about $400-$450 on sale, not sure about an older one. I'm sure some with more experience will post some more definite info for you.

Mosinnagantm9130 got it identified, that was fast.

Its a repro. You can tell by the difference in the forearm and butt stock

It is a reproduction percussion rifle that definitely won't accept the Thompson mags shown alongside it -

I have one just like it. Got it about 1975. probably a $200 rifle. I haven't checked value recently.

These were sold as kits that needed the barrels draw filed and finished.

                Thompson Hawken maybe 50 caliber.

Better than some of the newer ones. They have a very slow twist for shooting patched round balls.

It's a Hawken rifle, a few companies make them. Lyman, Traditions, Pedersoli. Check for the maker. I think the Traditions ones go for about $400 new. They are modern reproductions of antique style guns

I've picked up used Thompson Center rifles that are arguably better quality for $75-$150 each. The right person might pay $250 for that depending on exactly what it is and the condition.

Looks like a CVA "St. Louis" Hawken kit gun to me. BTW: I think CVA barrels are marked and serialized.

California gun laws are proof that some stupid comes in a full metal jacket.
