    IHC M1 Garand

Finally took possession of the IHC M1 I mentioned over a month ago. It was a consignment at my LGS, and for whatever reason they have a 30 day wait on consignments before you can start drose. The day after I put a down payment on it CMP released the service grades. I've been gearing up for Ammogeddon and buying a few AK's before new laws so I had to pass on service grade lottery and stick with this one. It has a 1954 LMR barrel that has lowest reading on my throat gage and 0 on cmp muzzle gage, and is mirror bright. The chamber is in the white. Its a postage stamp receiver. All parts that are marked are IHC, even the gas plug. It has an IHC stock, numbered channel, notch on right side, and small faded Defence acceptance stamp. The seller brought in two m1s, this one and a ww2 era SA with VAR barrel, he wanted the same price for both and the shop really had no meat on the bone so there wasn't any dealing to be made. Altogether it was $1150 OTD. I wasn't planning on buying one that day, I feel the price was fair, and I'm happy with it and glad I won't be kicking myself later on for not buying it. Anyway, here are some phone pics.
    Cheers

Very nice! I've been searching for a nice IHC to go with my Springfields and H&R.

Tight LMR barrel in a correct stock for $1100? You won the lottery.

You got taken my friend...that muzzle is almost at the "0" line. Send it my way before you hurt someone with it.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
            Come on...what harm??

And the throat is even better.. I mean worse. Will have to take it to the next gun buyback program for a $100 gift certificate.

Do the small parts not IHC stamped have letter codes?

Without doing a complete strip, the only letter I noticed was an F on safety, and follower arm appeared to have two side by side ll and another single l above.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying at least one of those two really nice early ww2 SA's that you got off a guy on this board about 3 yrs ago. I think he was in Temecula. But you have so many nice M1's that I would find it hard to believe that you even remember the ones I'm referring to.

You need to go down to the Post Office and see if there is wanted poster with your name on it, because you stole that one...

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen. You don't usually hear of good deals at gun stores, and I especially don't ever see them first hand. This was a store that I do out of state transfers at, and they do not sell C&R guns often.
                              Cheers
