    Post war P.38 Serial #s

    Greetings All!

Want to determine C&R eligility of post war P38's. Some of them might be c&r by now, but need solid proof. Are there any records/sources of info?

Many have the date stamped on either the frame or the slide. Most of the "P-1" version have the date on the slide. But most were made in the 1960's

This is one of mine a post war Commercial high polish blue P-38 1968 dated "68"

    Poke'm with a stick!

Nice looking P38 Wish I had one. Anyway, many of the Bw stamped pistols have been refinished more than once. I have seen low numbered guns like 03xxxx that were likely made in the 50's but with 1980's proof dates on the slide. So it's kinda confusing and some serial number ranges and dates would help before I tried to buy one. Thanks for the reply!
