    Put together Tikkas

I previously posted about a "parts lot" of Tikkas that I picked up in a package deal.

Turns out it was really 3 rifles with the bolts, hand guards and bands removed. All the parts were there, I just need to put the pieces back together.

Here's a pic of the lot with everything laid out

I'm starting with the top rifle, a round receiver

I like the stock the best on this one and it looks like it might have had some accurizing work done

    Still has shims

Looks like some inletting in the channel was done at some point

All three hand guards have poorly repaired cracks that I'll probably redo at some point, looks like someone just slapped some wood glue on the crack and called it a day.

There are globe sights for each of the rifles but I got a stacked sight off ebay for this one.

Used an "ELBY" front sight tool that I also purchased from an ebay seller. Worked like a charm.

Shame that one has a refinished stock, but still, good saves on these. I'm glad you went this route.

yeah the middle one has some stuff going on with the stock for sure. Someone on another board suggested they have seen "dry" stocks that look similar i.e. it might not be refinished, but it does look like it was sanded at least in some places

      A bit of a crack

Cool that you decided to keep and reassemble them.

My 28/30 has a stock on the dryer side, I see them from time to time. I think the one yours has has been stripped though.

          Still, worth a restoration.
