    Finned? 1917 M91 Mosin

I just bought this M91 on a road trip in Phoenix at Bear Arms Firearms (California C&R friendly). They listed it as a Bulgarian, but I'm pretty sure it ended-up in Finland. It's an Izhevsk receiver and barrel with scrubbed eagle and scrubbed barrel shank above the serial number (which ends in "F").

Has sling swivels, "Finned" rear sight w/"D" stamped on it instead of barrel shank, and the 4 little screws holding the type 3 barrel bands in place. Bands are Sestroryetsk, bolt is Izhevsk-marked, trigger Tula-marked, magazine follower Sestroyyetsk-marked. CAI import mark on muzzle. Butt plate Izhevsk-marked. Non-matching serial numbers. Paid $400.00 (I may have overpaid, but I really like the rifle). My second M91 and 6th MN. I love shooting the long Mosins!

Am I right about it being a "Finned" MN, even though it doesn't have the "SA" stamp?

Congrats. How does the rifling look, is it counterbored? I enjoy shooting my M91, it's just a classy looking rifle.

Russian built, Finn rebuild. Probably Winter Wartime, as they didn't bother with all the proofings. For $400, you did well. Nice find!
